We have certain traditions that the kids look forward to every year at Christmas. One of them is decorating sugar cookies. The kids make a mess and they eat more icing than they get on the cookies but it's always so much fun! The kids help with everything from making the dough (I only use homemade for the holidays!) to rolling and cutting with their choice of cookie cutters. They lose interest for a while usually while I am shuffling pan after pan into and out of the oven but their energy returns when I start mixing up some glaze and get out the sprinkles! And, of course, the best part is digging in and eating the whole batch!
